Introduction / Esperanza Rising is a story of a young girl from Mexico who is taken from her luxurious life to work in a Mexican farm worker’s camp in California during the Great Depression. Esperanza has trouble adjusting to the hard labor, financial hardships and lack of acceptance in her new life.
