INTERNATIONAL (MPLS VPN & CARRIER ETHERNET) Products

Description of Carrier Ethernet: International International Carrier Ethernet products consist of the Carrier Ethernet: SA & Carrier Ethernet: EU products. It offers customers the opportunity to interconnect locations within Namibia to Telecom Namibia’s International POPs which are located in Cape Town, Johannesburg, London or Frankfurt. The product makes used of the MPLS Platform and the International Platform. Traffic is terminated at the International POP and full link concept is applicable. Bandwidth offerings range from 1 Mbits/s to 1 Gbits/s and can be adjusted to customer needs without equipment changes. The services offered on Telecom Namibia’s Carrier Ethernet network are layer 2 services.

How does the service work

Description of MPLS VPN: International International MPLS VPN products consist of the MPLS VPN’s: SA and EU products. It offers customers the opportunity to interconnect locations within Namibia to Telecom Namibia’s International POPs which are located in Cape Town, Johannesburg, London or Frankfurt. Traffic is routed via the CE which is provided by Telecom Namibia to all the other customer locations. The International VPN products are produced with the MPLS and International Platform. The international POP terminates traffic and full link concept is applicable.

How does the service work

Description of MPLS VPN or Carrier Ethernet: International Express Routes Carrier Ethernet/MPLS VPN Express products are designed for carriers and ISP’s to connect major data exchange hubs in the country as well as in SA and EU with each other. Telecom Namibia provides a managed platform between these locations and is able to offer managed service end to end. Telecom Namibia offers several submarine cables to reach the POPs in Europe and different carriers to reach Cape Town and Johannesburg. Carrier Ethernet/MPLS Express is available from any Ethernet / MPLS POP to another Ethernet / MPLS POP (National and International) – Ethernet Express is without access and is full link.
