Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Jerusalem was founded in the 10 th century B.C.E. by king David.

Population Jerusalem is the largest city in Israel. The population in Jerusalem in 2006 is 732,100.

Location Jerusalem is located in the middle of Israel.

MAIN SITES IN JERUSALEM

THE KOTEL Is the western wall of the second the Bait- Hamikdas( The Holy Temple). It is the holiest place for the Jewish people.

The Keneset of Israel On December 5, 1949 David Ben Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister proclaimed Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Since then all branches of Israeli government have resided there. The Keneset is the Israeli parliament.

Yad Va’Shem - יד ושם Yad Vashem official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust established in 1953 through the Memorial Law passed by the Knesset, Israel's parliament.

The university of Jerusalem It is one of the #1 universities in Israel. The university was first opened on April 1,1925. The university of Jerusalem is one of eight university’s in Israel.

The Flag of Jerusalem is based on the Israeli flag. It features two horizontal blue stripes of the tallit. In the center is Jerusalem's symbol, which consists of a shield with the lion of Judah. The flag was first made in 1949.It became the flag of Jerusalem following the Six Day War in 1967.
