การทดสอบฤทธิ์ต้านปฏิกิริยา ออกซิเดชันด้วยวิธี DPPH Radical Scavenging Assay SORACHAI SAE-LIM Department of Chemistry Mahidol wittayanusorn School

Evalution of Antioxidation Activity The antioxidation activities of the crude extracts and pure compounds

The DPPH Radical Scavenging Assay AH = antioxidant compound DPPH = 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl

The antioxidation activities of the crude extracts Evaluation of Antioxidation Activity Sample (30  l) 0.05 mM DPPH (3 mL) Spectrophotometer Absorbance at 517 nm The DPPH radical scavenging assay

Screening on the free radical scavenging activity of crude extracts DPPH Dichloromethane extract Acetone extract Methanolic extract

Free radical scavenging activity of the pure compounds 40

Inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) of the crude extracts

The results in terms of IC 50 showed that MF 10, MF 11 and MF 14 showed strong radical scavenging activity. The activity of MF 10 and MF 14 possibly exhibited by the catechnolic moiety, ortho dihydroxyl groups (3-OH and 4-OH of B-ring in MF 10 and 6-OH and 7-OH of A-ring in MF 14) (Sata, et al., 1992). MF 10 MF 14 The mechanism of trapping radical 43

The mechanism of trapping radical by MF 10 (Shahidi, et al., 1992).

The mechanism of trapping radical by Ascrobic acid
