Characterization

Character Someone who takes part in a story.

Major Characters Most important characters They play a big role in the story

Minor Characters Less important characters The story does not focus on them

Protagonist Main character Usually the “good guy”

Antagonist The character who is in conflict with the protagonist Usually the “bad guy”

Dynamic Character A character who changes in the story (i.e. learns something new, takes on a new outlook etc.)

Static Character A character who does not change or develop

Round Character A complex character with many personality traits

Flat Character A one-sided character who does not change in the story
