Purpose: Can I make the other person win at Tic Tac Toe? Research: How do you usually play Tic Tac Toe?

Materials: Pencil and Paper Hypothesis: I think it is/is not possible to make the other person win at Tic Tac Toe.

Experiment: 1.Create gameboard (follow teacher directions) 2.Identify strategy (record on lab sheet) 3.Play (20 trials, rotation directed by teacher) Experiment: 1.Create gameboard (follow teacher directions) 2.Identify strategy (record on lab sheet) 3.Play (20 trials, rotation directed by teacher)

Analysis: 1.Did you learn a strategy for making the other person win? Analysis: 1.Did you learn a strategy for making the other person win?

Using class data, create graph of results for wins, losses, and ties.

Conclusion: My hypothesis was/was not correct. Elaborate. Conclusion: My hypothesis was/was not correct. Elaborate.
