Functional Education Means: Preparing students for their future by: -accessing technology -teaching functional life skills -teaching functional academic skills -vocational readiness training -practicing self-care skills Data collection and analysis allow us to track growth and create individualized learning goals.

Impact of Diversity on the Education of Exceptional Children As our population becomes more diverse, our assessment and educational procedures must also become more diverse. – Variety of disabilities – Variety of ethnic backgrounds – Variety of family structures – Variety of student orientations and lifestyles

Transition Services Transition to after-school life is our primary concern; we work with a variety of community agencies to develop realistic post-exit plans.

Residential Services With our 24-hour IEP, students can practice adaptive skills with knowledgeable staff before and after school hours.

How do we educate our children with multiple exceptionalities Individualized Education Plan – a team of professionals – parent and student participation – community involvement – outside agency contacts The IEP process should be fluid and fun!
