Equipments of In-Door Material Handling Béla Vizvári

The Importance of Material Handling Material handling is the transportation, storage and protection of materials in production, distribution, consumption and disposal. In many cases, transpoertation is dominant. The cost of material handling is 5 to 90 percent of the total cost

Example An American company produced small items. The production uses labor on high level. The production was transferred to the Carribian area. The company now imports, and stores the products. It packs, and labels the products for the orders of the shops of large department store chains. Material handling cost is close to 90 percent.

In-Door Equipments 1. Mass transportation: Conveyor Conveyor for bulk: rubber ribbon

Conveyor Boxes Combined with bar code: application is postal center.

Conveyor Boxes

Conveyor Special requirements

Conveyor Airport

Cranes Transportation equipment for heavy items and/or into and from large height.

Cranes Typical in-door solution:

Crane Special requirements

In-Door Vehicles Recently the most important is forklift Basic:

Forklift It works with pallet Pallets are standardized

Pallet EUR1 800 mm × 1,200 mm EUR2 1,200 mm × 1,000 mm EUR3 1,000 mm × 1,200 mm EUR6 800 mm × 600 mm half EUR 600 mm × 400 mm quarter of EUR 400 mm × 300 mm one-eighth of EUR

Forklift Lift items to large height

Lifters Action or storage in the high.

Storage Systems Rack: grid like high system: It is also used in special, cheap hipermarkets

Rack Excellent usage of area:

Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)

Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS It has its own robot

And Don’t Forget Industrial robot

And Don’t Forget Assembly line: based on a conveyor.
