Objective I can describe the Virginia and New Jersey Plan

Virginia Plan Who presented it and from where? James Madison from Virginia. What did it call for? Three branches of gov’t Legislature, Executive, and Judicial Congress was bicameral (which means it has 3 houses)

Virginia Plan How many representatives in Congress? The number of seats in both houses depended on the population of each state. Who supported it? States with a higher population (VA, NY, PA, NC)

New Jersey Plan Who presented it and from where? William Pattern from New Jersey. What did it call for? Three branches of gov’t Legislature, Executive, and Judicial Congress only has one house.

New Jersey Plan How many representatives in Congress? Each state had only one seat. States with a lower population (NJ, RI, MD)
