 What is a rural community?

 What might our pen pal’s day and community be like?

 Goal: 3 rd grade students gain a friend and understanding of different types of communities.  Objectives: students will be able to locate pen pal’s community on a map.  Compare attributes of urban and rural areas.  Standards:  3-5.CC.1. Use digital communication tools (e.g., , wikis, blogs, IM, chat rooms, videoconferencing, Moodle, Blackboard) and online resources for group learning projects  3 – G4.0.3 Describe some of the current movements of goods, people, jobs or information to, from, or within Michigan and explain reasons for the movements.  3 – G5.0.2 Describe how people adapt to, use, and modify the natural resources of Michigan.
