Warm Up Compare the data and describe the distributions of the data. The heights are in inches.

Warm Up The shape of the heights of young men and young women is skewed left. Typically, young men are about 70 inches tall, while young women are typically about 65 inches tall. The heights of young men ranges from inches, while in young women, it ranges from inches. Most young men are about inches, while most young women are inches. In general, young men are usually taller than women, which is why most of their data is higher. There is a large range, and few really low heights, probably because some young men and women have gone through puberty or hit a growth spurt, while some still have not.

Side by Side Box Plots

Compare the data and describe the distribution What is the better movie theater?

The shape of Carmike Cinemas is skewed left, while the Imax theater is mound shaped. The average tickets sold a day for Carmike was 90, while the average tickets sold for Imax was 72. Carmike theaters had a very large range of 55, with most of the data being between 66 & Imax had a smaller range of 30, and most of their data between 70.5 and For Carmike, most data was fairly high, but the one day of 45 skewed the data. It seems like overall, Carmike is the better theater.
