With your partner, you will also change and add to this slide show, but first, you need to give it a new name. Save this file like this: journey home_your last names. birth (compound words): birthplace, birthmark, birthday I had cake on my birthday. Danbury is my birthplace. Add your own sentence and picture for birthmark. Add three more compound words that have “birth” in them.

adopt (verb) taking legal responsibility for a child that is not your own by birth My friend adopted her five beautiful daughters from China. Add your own sentence and picture of your own!

adoption (noun): the act of becoming the legal parents of a child you did not give birth to My birthparents gave me up for adoption when I was a baby. Add your own sentence and picture!
