Course Choices Know the courses and descriptions (they are on the website) Make good course choices for electives I will provide a 4 year plan during scheduling..feel free to get it off my website now Doing nothing is a habit and you will want to move forward in a positive direction. Realize this in advance and plan to succeed at the High School. You can do it

MMC-Graduation Requirements 4 years of Math-Math your Senior Year 4 years of English 3 years of Science (Biology & Chemistry) 3 years of Social Studies (U.S., World and Civics) 1 credit PE/Health (.5 health and .5 PE) On-line experience 2 credits of Foreign Language (Spanish) AT THE HIGH SCHOOL IF YOU ARE COLLEGE BOUND! If you fail, plan on summer school or lose an elective the following year 24 Credits needed for a diploma

Advice Form good study habits NOW Math-do the homework and re-work the math problems. You will need Algebra One Geometry Algebra Two (Algebra 2A and Algebra 2B) 4th year of Math (Pre-Calc, Statistics or other related math class) From Seniors “Don’t slack off” 2X!!

The Guarantee YOU WILL PASS IF: You do every assignment Study at home Have good attendance Talk to your teacher if you get confused You are in control and you get to determine if you pass and you can do it

more information PE can be satisfied with: What is a pre-requisite? Band or 2 seasons of a sport BUT most people take PE anyways. It is a pre-requisite to other classes. Most students still take PE because what else would you take with health? There are limited choices. What is a pre-requisite? 60% or higher in Spanish and/or Algebra can earn you high school credit. You can enter High School with some credits on your transcript.

credits Each class at OHS earns .5 credit/semester or 1 credit for the year if you PASS The class and credits are on your transcript which is a permanent record that follows you wherever you go for the rest of your life Example Be deliberate and make good course choices Think of potential career goals when registering Go with teacher recommendations and remember honors means extra work

Things to Look Forward to Getting all of the requirements satisfied in the first 2 years 11th and 12th grade offer more course choices Blue and Gold Banquet-Awards Assembly AP Dual Enrollment Shared Time/Baker/CCRESA Attempt to walk into college with some credit KEEP THE DOOR OPEN

Let me know if you need help. Best Wishes for a Terrific Year! Mrs. Gazley 723-8231 X5496 Mrsgazley.weebly.com gazley@owosso.k12.mi.us Make it a great Year!
