Thanks for watching…

Whether on water, pavement, or fluffy white powder, the history of surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding is a landscape filled with rugged personalities, exotic locales, wild innovation, and most of all the united dream of becoming one with the oceans, streets, and mountains. - Jaime Brisick

The whole reason for me to make films was to be part of something bigger than me, so people I loved could watch what I love to do and somehow feel a part of it. -Cable, 22. snowboarder, skater, surfer, filmmaker.

I always loved watching the surf movies, when I was a kid because it gave me better ideas for tricks and stuff. I would see something I hadn’t tried before and I could like, do one more trick or something. I always thought if I busted an air or something, like do Gerry Lopez’s style in the movies, then I could get all the girls to like me in the fifth grade. -Rick Davies (retired. oldest surfer in the lineup, early Californian surfer/board shaper)

Of all the things that I think about skating, the number one best part is when I forget about what I was thinking about and the sounds drift away, and I don’t feel any muscles moving, I just feel like I’m floating. -Dane Richards

Success to me in surfing is just pushing your limits, you know like doing what you’re thinking about. Say you’re thinking about doing some crazy knee grab 360 air, that’s like something… that you’re going for. It’s a progression, you know you’re trying to push the limits of what you’re abilities are. - Cory Lopez (competition surfer)

I don’t watch the movies, I just do it. -Tallulah I think all the magazines are so corporate, and most of the films too. They all have the same people in them. I just skate with my friends. - Kyle

You know, when you are riding your longboard I bet you just picture waves the whole time… that’s what I do. Anyway, you’ve seen people snowboard in pictures enough I’m sure you could just try it and figure it out, you know. It’s all the same idea of power and will balanced out, of you and what you’re riding on. -Tanner Bleakley

I could probably ride with 75% of my board as long as it was my favorite board and the waves were perfect and kept up for a while. Same reason I could surf by the moon too. It’s all feedback you know, and when you concentrate you can just feel your way on waves. –- AJ Nichols Of all the the things that I think about skating, the number one best part is when I forget about what I was thinking about and the sounds drift away, and I don’t feel any muscles moving, I just feel like I’m floating. -Dane Richards

You can recognize a boarder so easy. It’s an instant connection. It truly is something that connects people everywhere on the most tenuous little idea that you both ride a little piece of equipment. Really strange, right? But then again I can sure talk about it with anyone and have a good time. -Isaiah Mead

av Let my people go surfing. -motto/memoir book title of Patagonia’s owner and founder Yvon Chouinard
