{ Kitchen Equipment SHOW & TELL!

{ “Theoretically a good cook should be able to perform under any circumstances, but cooking is much easier, pleasanter, and more efficient if you have the right tools.” -Julia Child

 Bakeware includes pans of various shapes and sizes that are used for baking and must be oven safe  Baking relies on accurate measurements and ingredients as much as it relies on the right piece of equipment Bakeware

 Cookware refers to items used to prepare meals on the stove top – usually pots and pans.  Thick, heavy-gauge metal promotes even cooking and prevents warping, which can lead to accidents. Cookware

 Can be classified based on their function - measuring tools, mixing tools, and cutting tools.  As a general rule, store all tools in or near the area in which they will be used most. Kitchen Utensils & Tools

 Some kitchen equipment is harder to categorize but is just as important!  These pieces of equipment are normally larger and will be shared by the kitchens. Other Equipment

 As a lead you through a ‘show & tell’ of the different kitchen equipment, please write or draw a picture of the description of the item in space provided.  As a class we will discuss some common uses for such equipment. Show & Tell Time!

 Match the task/technique with the appropriate piece of kitchen equipment. The Right Tool for the Job!
