The information contained herein is subject to change without notice. 8 Adjusting to different card types The HP Common Proximity Card Reader can scan up to two types of cards: Identify the types of card(s) your customer has, and configure them in the proximity card settings area. Connect the HP Common Proximity Card Reader to the HPAC server to test card type settings against the customer's cards. For help with card identification, call the DSS support line for assistance.

Specify either SQL or LDAP server data storage: If using LDAP, configure the LDAP attribute and LDAP credentials to store the unique card bits. Connect the HP Common Proximity Card Reader to the HPAC server, and test the card type configurations with the customer’s proximity cards. Confirm one of the card types can successfully read bits from the card. Install the HP Common Proximity Card Reader (USB or Compact Flash) on the HP device. Devices tab of the HP AC Configuration Utility: Install the Printer Agent. Configure the Printer Agent, and configure it with Authentication. MFP Embedded Web Server: Configure front panel option for HPAC Server / IRM server. Pre FutureSmart only: Select the Card Enrollment button, and set an alternative enrollment option (LDAP, Kerberos, Windows).

Centralize PC-based enrollment Install the HPAC software on a PC: C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Access Control\client setup Connect the HP Common Proximity Card Reader to the PC via USB. From the software, do the following:
