INTRODUCTION TO:  Xerona Michael & Co Ltd  Design & Build Solutions  Advantages of Steel in Building  Features of Steel Frame Structures  Major components of Steel Building Structures  Commitment

XERONA MICHAEL & CO LIMITED  It delivers end-to-end cold formed steel construction solutions  It distributes and supports a wide range of building constructions and applications  Its integrated building solutions are backed by technical expertise of the most advanced end-to-end steel frame design and manufacturing company in the world  Xerona Michael is a duly incorporated Nigerian company

XERONA MICHAEL contd.  Xerona Michael offers all types of residential houses (High, Medium & Low income)  Workforce accommodations  Barracks  Modular Construction  Workshops  Portable cabins  Other forms of buildings

OUR ADVANTAGE What sets Xerona Michael apart are:  its steel frame designs, manufacturing and building systems allow for mass production of cold formed steel houses with precision accuracy  Its steel frame houses are good structures and are built faster and more economical.

DESIGN & BUILD SOLUTIONS The 5 Step Design & Build Solutions are in accordance with the British Standard Building Codes and encompass the following:  3D ARCHITECTURAL VISUALIZATION & MODELING The building solution starts with the visualization and modeling of all approved drawings using our proprietary software to create a 3 dimensional view of the entire building as it would be upon completion  PRECISION DESIGN, ENGINEERING & STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS The entire approved drawings are then designed and detailed using proprietary Designs, Detailing and Engineering software. A 3D view of the precision designed and detailed building is then presented to the client for approval and concurrence. Upon approval by the client by the client, the soft copy of the drawing is fed into a sophisticated machine for error free production of the main components of the house

DESIGN & BUILD cont’d  MANUFACTURE OF STEEL FRAMES & COMPONENTS At this stage the machine creates each component of the building frame individually and labels them in accordance with their respective positions in the frame. This allows for error free construction. Every component of the building is at this stage produced and detailed (cut to length, pre- punch services & fastening holes, swaged, knotted and ready for assembly) with individual characteristics in accordance to its position in the building

DESIGN & BUILD cont’d  ASSEMBLY OF PANELS AND TRUSSES The finished components of the building as produced by the machine are assembled at the factory ( and in the case of multiple buildings at Site) to form panels and trusses. The completed panels and trusses are then positioned for rapid and accurate assembly  CONSTRUCTION At site we use local labour to firmly erect the completed panels and trusses. And then the rest of the building is completed (in about 25% to 30% of the time it takes to complete a structure of similar size using conventional concrete building solution) using the most advanced end-to- end steel frame building solution.

ADVANTAGES OF STEEL IN BUILDING Steel framing has come to the forefront as one of the best and most feasible alternative to building materials for residential and commercial constructions for the following reasons:  Steel builds better structures, faster and more economical  Steel is a superior construction material than any other material  Steel has the highest strength –to-weight ratio of any building material

ADVANTAGES OF STEEL cont’d  Steel is non-combustible- does not burn nor contribute fuel to the spread of fire  Steel is inorganic- will not rot, warp, split, crack or creep  Steel is dimensionally stable- does not expand or contract with weather or moisture content  Steel has consistent material quality- produced in accordance with approved standard  Steel is 100% recyclable without degradation.

FEATURES OF A STEEL FRAME BUILDING  High strength results in safer structures, less maintenance and slower aging of structures  Lighter structure with stronger connections results in less seismic force  Less probability of foundation problems, less weight results in less movements  Less probability of damage in an earthquake (though not probable but possible in Nigeria)

FEATURES cont’d  Less probability of damage in high winds- wind factor is considered in the design & build solutions  Straight walls and square corners- level 5 wall is easily achieved  Better quality- steel does not warp, bend, rot, split, creep, crack, expand, shrink once erected

FEATURES cont’d  Precise & accurate- 3D modeling results in accurately designed components that are then precision manufactured by a sophisticated machine to fit together perfectly during erection. This allows windows and doors to open and close as they should  Reduction in waste- less scrap and waste (1% vs 20%+ for conventional building system) results in less overall costs

FEATURES cont’d  Fast design –production and construction times are significantly reduced by as much as 80% - the machine produces 6.5houses of a typical 2 bedroom bungalow in an eight hour shift  Price stability during construction- price hikes is extremely rare when compared to conventional concrete construction

FEATURES cont’d  Environmental friendly- steel framed houses can be strengthened, extended, modified, dismantled, reassembled and repaired  Healthier – because steel does not contain harmful chemicals, pesticides, preservatives or glues.

COMPONENTS OF STEEL BUILDING STRUCTURES Steel Products & Hardware:  Flat products- galvalume, zincalume, galvan & zam  Electro-galvanised, galvanised, stainless steel & aluminium  Structural steel angles, channels, beams and flat bars etc  Screw fasteners

STEEL PRODUCTS & HARDWARE cont’d  Screw fasteners  Pneumatic pin fasteners  Brackets & connectors – anchors, hold-downs, multigrips, joist hangers strap bracing, seismic & hurricane ties

WALL SYSTEMS  Pre –finished magnesium boards to maximize speed of total building construction time  Use unique fixing system to deliver walls that offer outstanding durability over the life time of a building  Magnesium boards we use are Impervious to fire, water and insects  Magnesium boards are non toxic ( free of asbestos or formaldehyde)  Magnesium boards are Light weight, strong & durable  They are non inflammable and non combustible  Available in a wide range of sizes, thickness & colours.

INSULATION  Polyurethane Boards to improve the thermal and acoustic performances of buildings. Available in different thicknesses of up to 100mm to achieve superior thermal conductivity in buildings  Lightweight, strong, breathable wraps in roofs & external walls to provide moisture & vapour controls in buildings.

ROOFS  Use regular long spans, fibre cement corrugated sheets, fibre cement tiles etc for that perfect finish.

CEILINGS  Use regular PVC tiles (available in a range of sizes, styles, colours & thicknesses), metal grid suspension systems, POP finishing etc for that perfect finish.

FLOORS  Complete range of vinyl & PVC floor covers, tiles, marbles in a wide range of styles, colours & thicknesses.

OUR COMMITMENT  We will use superior products and solutions to serve our clients  We will offer value propositions and integrated solutions to our clients at all times  We will ensure timely delivery to our clients
