10 ways to find a liar. An excerpt from the magazine «TUPOKAYF» and the book of Irvin Yalom "Liar on the couch“.

The kind of event This article is about psychology, but it will be provided in a simple manner and will be of interest to many

Inconsistencies If you want to know whether the other person is lying, look for inconsistencies in what he says. If a man tells you that he saw something unusual, but did not notice anything, because that did not even look in that direction, he's lying. Natural human reaction - turn toward the noise. Look for inconsistencies, illogical, this is something that you should pay attention when talking to someone who is suspected of lying.

Unexpected questions About 4% of people - brilliant liars and they do it skillfully that only a professional will understand. But the effort is worth it. When the liar does not expect, please direct question. If a person is lying, his speech, will start stumble.

Uncharacteristic behavior One of the clearest indicators of dishonesty is to change behavior. Please note, if you normally placid behavior disturbing. Or, conversely, deeply interested in the problem, the person suddenly becomes indifferent to it. Enough to create the conditions under which you know how people normally receive. If his reaction is exactly the opposite, or inexplicable to you, it makes sense to try to bring the interlocutor to clean water.

Watch for microemotions "Mikroemotions - this is a very short process, roughly speaking, the first impression that lasts less than 25 seconds, and then always hidden behind false emotions," - says Paul Ekman. So, for example, when a person is actively expresses happiness, but really upset about something, he mikroemotions manifest in the form of anger on his face. 99% of the 10,000 people who took part in the testing, could not do it. But it can be learned. Average person to master this skill, you need no more than an hour.

Look for contradictions As a general rule all the emotions and gestures of people who are in discord with his words may be evidence of lies. For example, when a person agrees to do something, but his voice is artificially or tone indicates an internal protest or micromotion head like a gesture of "no." These contradictions are between the voice and the words, gestures and voice, facial expressions and words.

Roving eye When a person tries to avoid eye contact when speaking, he probably has one purpose - to hide the truth. Arouse suspicion should look into the distance, or walk through the eyes of the surrounding space. Many people give their own own body - someone strong palms start to sweat, someone is shaking voice.

Too much detail One thing is clear - the source gives you too many details, which sometimes do not play any role. And that could mean that it will be a long thought out of the situation and offered false facts.

The End If you all are found to lie to the interlocutor - your main task is to determine why he was lying.
