Current Problems What is a carbon footprint? Electricity usage is major part of students’ carbon footprint. Current calculators don’t ask for details. –Electricity, Gas, and Water Bills Students have lower footprints than national averages.

Approach To Solution Focus on simple questions. Focus on dorm life. Driving and travel are secondary. Compare results with other students.

Usability Test Method Made pre-test to gauge their ability to use a computer and their general knowledge of carbon footprints. Asked users to perform basic tasks and noted observations: –Calculate their footprint –Register an account –View past results Measured their overall experience with CarbonTerp.
