 Step 1.) I Copy and pasted the image of the flag into the blank canvas, used free transform tool to enlarge the image to take up the entire canvas. Step 2.) From the image of Maria and Melanie shaking hands, I used the magnetic lasso tool to get just the image of the two athletes shaking hands. Step 3.) I used the "move tool" to move the new cropped image of the athletes into my image with the american flag. Step 4.) I changed the opacity of the shaking hands image to 73 percent and used the free transform tool to enlarge the image to the size of the canvas. Step 5.) I used the magnetic lasso tool on the image of melanie oudin celebrating to get just her outline and then used the move tool and dragged her outline into my image. Step 6.) I used the free transform tool to shrink her size down proportionate to where I wanted her placed in my image. Step 7.) I used the magnetic lasso tool on the image of maria sharapova disappointed to get just her outline and using the move tool, dragged her outline into my image. Step 8.) I use the clone sponge tool in order to get rid of the white line across Maria's stomach caused by the net. I cloned her upper body onto her stomach to get rid of the white lines. I also did this with her arms as well. Step 9.) I used the free transform tool to shrink her size down proportionate to where I wanted her placed in my image.

 LeBron James

 LeBron James: All images were obtained on Thursday, March 25, 2010 Sources: cache.net/xc/ jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF878921CC759DF4EB AC47D0EDC20ED6C7FD24635EECA2531FD9CB7DE7D898F153B51852E30A760B0D dwight-howard.jpg Method: This image was created to show how LeBron James made an incredible buzzer-beater against the Orlando Magic. I used a Nike ad of LeBron with his arms outstretched, copied the body via layer copy, painted his jersey using the color replacement brush, and erased the original picture via clone stamp. I cut out the other figures using the magnetic lasso, magic eraser and regular eraser. I used the burn tool and blur tool to give the images more depth, refine the edges and make them all a similar hue. I cut out the Cavaliers logo, used the same techniques that I used to refine the other images, and placed it behind the figures. I also decreased the opacity. cache.net/xc/ jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF878921CC759DF4EB AC47D0EDC20ED6C7FD24635EECA2531FD9CB7DE7D898F153B51852E30A760B0D dwight-howard.jpg

 USA Soccer

 USA Soccer: This image portrays the US soccer team's victory over Spain in the FIFA Confederations Cups in South Africa last summer. This win was historic because it broke Spain's 35 game winning streak. All photos were obtained on Saturday, ‎ February ‎ 06, ‎ 2010 My sources: beats-spain-now-lets-relax/article_photo1.jpg/ eng-US/article_photo1.jpg_full_600.jpg Steps: To make the background, I used the photo of one of the winning goals, decreased the opacity, placed a layer behind it where I used the gradient tool. I used the magnetic lasso, magic eraser, etc to cut out Dempsey and Jozy. I blurred the edges of the figures using the blur tool, then used the sponge tool and burn tool to add shadows and make the figures look similar. I used the burn tool to add shadows to the background behind each figure. I used the rectangle tool to cut out the flags, decreased the opacity and used the free transform tool to resize the images appropriately. I then used the text tool to show the score of the game, placing the numbers on top of the flags. I also used the text tool to summarize the event and describe Spain's winning streak. beats-spain-now-lets-relax/article_photo1.jpg/ eng-US/article_photo1.jpg_full_600.jpg

 I created this image by using the Gimp software. I used various tools such as the blur tool and the image resize tool. I also used a tool that allowed me to tilt the images to different directions. I also used the crop tool to help me cut out specific people or things in the images.   krDGBsWSXbBFqk2YOBoVoiXnAXiOtgEJnpg1AjKztVGKV*tFT3Ao2SzZmIh5oCY46Hg*Xh3VDIhTyupKaH4/su perbowl_pittsburgh_steelers_ryan_clark_happy.jpg krDGBsWSXbBFqk2YOBoVoiXnAXiOtgEJnpg1AjKztVGKV*tFT3Ao2SzZmIh5oCY46Hg*Xh3VDIhTyupKaH4/su perbowl_pittsburgh_steelers_ryan_clark_happy.jpg      Pittsburgh-Steelers-in-Tampa-Florida.jpg Pittsburgh-Steelers-in-Tampa-Florida.jpg 

 I used several tools including the sizing tool and the rotate tool. I also used the blur tool and shadow and shading tools to make my images darker or lighter. I also used the cropping tool. I attempted to recreate the excitement of the games by using different pictures and differen styles and colors. sources--All sources were taken from a google image search on March 11, gG/Stanley+Cup+Finals+Pittsburgh+Penguins+v+Detroit/-9ueMz920Ey/Sidney+Crosby s_hockey.jpg cache.net/xc/ jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF ABF3343C02EA5 48E4D58306B4C73E5C5332C6FA2E82FE2AC70FB56A7498F3F1E30A760B0D live1.jpg

 1.) Opened image of Jimmy Rollins in photshop. Using the magnetic lasso tool, outlined just the image of him I wanted to use. 2.) I used the move tool and dragged it into the blank canvas I was using for my image 3.) I used the free transform tool and changed the picture to the size I wanted. 4.) I repeated steps 1-3 for the other two jimmy rollins pictures, leaving me with a blank white background and three jimmy rollins images. 5.) Using the move tool, I rearranged the pictures to where I wanted them. 6.) I copied and pasted the image of citizen bank park onto my image and using free transform, made it the size of the background of the image 7.) On the layers toolbox, i dragged the layer containing the citizen bank image right above the background layer so it would be behind all other pictures in my image 8.) I copied the picture of the plane into the image and using the magnetic lasso got rid of all the background so i was left with just the plane. I used the free transform tool to get it to the size I wanted. 9.) I used the pencil tool and drew a line off the right of the plane 10.) I used the blur tool and blurred the line, and erased some of it so it was thinner using the erase tool 11.) I copied and pasted the Go Phillies! banner and used the free transform to resize it. I placed it at the end of the pencil line to represent a plane pulling a banner

 Usain Bolt world records

 To create this image, I used various cropping tools. I also used the free transform tool. I used the paint bucket to create a background with colors that are the colors of Jamaica (Usain Bolt's home country.) I also used resizing tools to make images fit the canvas size better. I also used the eraser tool to touch up my images and the selction tool to determine where I will place my images.  I found my images on google, these are the links… pose_thumb%5B3%5D-thumb-520x jpg BD3998F51835EE.jpg beijing-olympics/2008-beijing-olympics-13-usain-bolt-ss.jpg jogs_791213c.jpg

 Villanova Cross Country Champs

 Villanova Cross Country: All images were obtained on Monday, ‎ March ‎ 22, ‎ 2010 Sources: snc3/hs104.snc3/15167_ _ _ _ _n.jpg splash-09.jpg&imgrefurl= body.html&usg=__97UKjJfDF0dsSRJQSuXOpk- qRl0=&h=800&w=700&sz=307&hl=en&start=3&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=PuJtpZbdgABEmM:&tbnh=143 &tbnw=125&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dvillanova%2Bcross%2Bcountry%2B2009%26um%3D1%26hl%3D en%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26tbs%3Disch:1 Method: In order to recreate this event, I found several pictures of the team and two key players. The background photo has an artistic filter. I used a gradient fill to combine a gradient background, a foreground image of the team embracing, and the artistic filter. On top of this I cut out two runners, Sheila Reid begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting and Amanda Marino and placed them in the foreground. I used the magnetic lasso, the burn tool, the blur tool and the clone stamp. I cut the text from two different images as well. The “Villanova” text was obtained by using the magic eraser. The NCAA text was taken in the same fashion snc3/hs104.snc3/15167_ _ _ _ _n.jpg splash-09.jpg&imgrefurl= body.html&usg=__97UKjJfDF0dsSRJQSuXOpk- qRl0=&h=800&w=700&sz=307&hl=en&start=3&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=PuJtpZbdgABEmM:&tbnh=143 &tbnw=125&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dvillanova%2Bcross%2Bcountry%2B2009%26um%3D1%26hl%3D en%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26tbs%3Disch:1

 1) I opened the picture of the background picture and using the free transform tool, made it the size of the canvas 2) I opened the picture of matt and chris holding the trophy and using the magnetic lasso, got just the image of them and using the move tool moved it onto the canvas with the football field. 3.) I used the free transform tool to make them the proper size and used the move tool to center them at the bottom. 4.) I used the magnetic lasso, move tool and free transform tool on the other two football images as well as the villanova "V" and rearranged them to where I wanted them on the image. 5.) I brought the Villanova "V" layer down to just above the football field image so it would be behind all the player images.

 Villanova v Pitt

 Villanova v Pitt: Sources: All photos were taken on 2/6/2010. Links to photos used: reynolds.jpg The objective of this image was to show how Scottie Reynolds played an important role in the victory against Pittsburgh during last year's NCAA tournament. The background was created by taking a group image of the team, using an artistic filter to make the image more abstract, and decrease the opacity. I then made a new layer, placed it behind the background, and made the new layer a gradient. The next layers were created by using the magnetic lasso, eraser tool, etc to remove pieces of other pictures, then drag them onto the background. I blurred the edges of Scottie Reynolds making the winning basket so that the edges would not be as clean cut. I also decreased the opacity for this layer. I did the same for the image of Jay Wright and for the center image of Scottie Reynolds. I used the liquify filter to alter the Pitt logo, making it look as if the Villanova Wildcat logo has scratched the letters. I used the burn tool to create shadows as well. When using the text tool to show the score of the game, I made sure to make the Pittsburgh score have lower opacity, making the Villanova score brighter in comparison. I also used the Villanova "V" to write out the name of the school reynolds.jpg
