ATMs are the best way to get money. Don’t bring traveler’s checks, which can be difficult to cash. Notify your bank or credit card company that you’ll be abroad. Bring the equivalent of $50 in the currency of your arrival destination. We are responsible for our lunches and tipping. Spending money

We recommend: Credit card, bank debit or ATM card $50-$150 in Euros before you leave Austin Remember to let your bank or credit card company know that you will be out of the country & what the precise dates are.

What to bring & What NOT to bring SMALL IS BETTER LESS IS MORE

Pack light: We will be responsible for loading our own luggage on and off the bus and into hotels. You are responsible for any luggage handling fees charged by the airlines. See the fees at eftours.com/baggage eftours.com/baggage Carry any valuables or medications in your EF backpack or carry-on. Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on in case your luggage is lost. A full packing list can be found in the Tour Handbook or at eftours.com/packinglisteftours.com/packinglist

Tour Director Our personal, bilingual Tour Director is with us every step of the way, and will be there the moment we clear customs. They stay with us 24/7, taking care of all the logistics (hotels, transportation, meals and more) and provide insight into local life and culture. Licensed Local Guides Our local guides are founts of knowledge and full of insight that make our excursions and sightseeing more interesting and educational. Many hold academic degrees in architecture, art or history. And we have found that they’re very passionate about sharing with others about their city and culture.

Rooming All hotels that work with EF are required to meet rigorous standards for quality, safety and cleanliness, so you can count on safe, clean and comfortable hotels with private baths. Students share rooms with 2-3 other travelers (same gender), from their own group or from another group with whom they’re traveling. Meals Breakfast typically includes cereal, rolls, jam, juice, coffee and tea. Lunch is a chance for you to make culinary discoveries of your own. Dinners will either be familiar dishes or local specialties. Free time This is your time to explore the area with friends, visit museums, sit at a café and people-watch, buy souvenirs—the choices are endless. Your Tour Director knows the area well and can recommend local favorites and activities.

At all times abide by the rules of your EF Group Leaders Stay within boundaries of the accommodations except during designated times. No drugs, alcohol or tobacco on tour. No members of opposite sex in your room. No sexual activity on tour. Use the “buddy system” (Never go out on your own! Always let someone know where you’ll be.) If you do not conform to these Rules of the Road, you will be sent home at the expense of your parents/legal guardians.

Different (language, food, attitudes, looks, expectations, rules, laws) Old (buildings, streets, traditions) New (buildings, streets, traditions, friends) Mind-blowing (sites & experiences) The unexpected

A good tour director and bus driver are so vital to a great traveling experience. We give a tip as a token of appreciation. This is customary. Many groups also tip local guides for sightseeing tours. Suggested tipping rates $6 per day for your Tour Director $3 per day for your driver $1-2 for each local guide

Tour Guide days 2-10 =$54 Bus Driver 5 days = $15 Local Guide 3 days = $3-6 TOTAL TIP $ = $75 TIPS (for extension) Tour Guide - days 2-13 =$72 Bus Driver – 8 days = $24 Local Guide – 5 days = $5-10 TOTAL TIP $ = $106

We will tip individual local guides on Days 3,6,9,11,12 We will tip bus driver #1 on Day 6 (for 2 days) Bus driver #2 on Day 9 (for 3 day) Bus driver #3 on Day 13 (for 3 days) We will thank & tip our tour guide on Days 9 & 12 Options for you: You set aside your tip money & distribute on each occasion You write a check to the Profes, they deposit and then distribute on each occasion

All travelers are responsible for securing necessary documentation Carry a copy of your passport with you and also leave a copy at home. Non-U.S. citizens may require special visas or other travel documents. Passports Valid passports are required for all travelers. Name and gender listed on your EF account must exactly match passport information. Passports must be valid for 6 months after tour.

EF will use the emergency contact list if they need to communicate any information while we’re on tour. Emergency contacts cannot be traveling with this group and must be available for the duration of the tour. Confirm your emergency contacts at least 30 days prior to departure. Make sure your information is correct and up to date. All changes can be made on your personalized website. If you are contacted with an emergency, call the next person on your list to relay the information. Making changes to emergency contact information: Travelers can enter or edit their emergency contact information by logging in and visiting the profile section of their web site. Emergency contacts
