What is IB? A continuum of education for ages Our district offers the Middle Years Program (grades 9-10) and the Diploma Program (grades 11-12) for the high school student. A program with a 40 year history of the pursuit of excellence in teacher training, curriculum design, and student achievement which sets international standards. A program with a mission to bring about world peace, to raise good stewards of our planet, to foster lifelong learning, and to promote individual excellence.

What is IB? It’s a program with a Mission: The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

What is IB? It’s a program with defined character education and leadership training through the Learner Profile. IB learners strive to be: Inquirers Knowledgeable Thinkers Communicators Principled Open-minded Caring Risk-takers Balanced Reflective

These “lenses” allow students to see a tangible application for what they are learning in the classroom as they prepare for the rigor of the Diploma Program. –Theory of Knowledge provides a meta-cognitive analysis of what they are learning, how they are learning, and why they are learning it.
