 Who is your audience?  Someone who does not understand  Someone who is struggling or behind  Someone who just doesn’t get it  Someone who is behind  Flipped classroom – A bit tricky

 Why are you doing this problem?  Explain context and or relevance  Don’t just jump into solving problem

 Explain key elements before solving  Make sure listener understands what is being asked  Don’t just read the problem  Highlight key features

 List important tools  Write down key assumptions or tools as needed in a clear place  Facts, assumptions, formula

 Useful visuals when needed  Diagrams, picture, table can be very helpful but make sure it is not decorative  Often good at the beginning to explain context

 No Mystery Steps  Carefully include and explain all steps  Context of step – how it is connect to previous and/or next step  Khan generally does this very well

 Relaxed Pace for Learning  Good for learning, not flashy, fast paced clips students usually see  Try to have clip no longer than 5 minutes  If the story is clear/good, students will listen

 Use conversational voice  Pretend you are tutoring a student who is struggling  Be careful about being distractingly friendly, engaging and loud

 Be well organized  Good amount of white space  Avoid crowding  Write if you can – don’t simply present text
