Why We came to the School Council The school council has the authority to appoint committees, study groups, or task forces for such purposes as it deems helpful and may utilize existing or new school advisory groups. O.C.G.A. § (o). School Council Represents School Community

Consider a Committee for Special Needs Families Many more autistic kids; Families need support. Numbers of diagnosis changing quickly, School system mitigations rapidly changing too. Information for navigating schools is difficult. There is potential to be ahead of the curve. To be the model. Many more autistic kids; Families need support. Desired Outcome Provide positive forum to share, grow and support our community of special needs families and general population at Ford. Provide for the needs of the Family unit through the harvest and distribution of current information regarding Special Needs to Ford Elementary School families. Spread the wealth of knowledge regarding our Special Needs community.

Approach Coordinate 1-2 individuals to establish and implement goals of the Committee and provide regular status reports to the Ford Elementary School Council.

Goals Work with Ford Elementary staff to facilitate a comprehensive list of established contacts and programs. Welcome families Help Ford families clearly see the roll of individuals.
