GinaMarie Miro ANCIENT EGYPTIAN ART

EGYPTIAN ART Most Surviving artwork comes from Tombs which Egyptians build to assure an afterlife for the dead. Egyptian Artists did not try to create work for originality, but instead created traditional formulations that expressed specific ideas. Form and subject is a characteristic in most Egyptian work

EGYPTIAN ART KA – What Egyptians thought to be the soul of the dead (spirit) -Would make artwork and furniture for who ever passed and then it would be placed into their burial Mastaba so that the KA could live a happy and conferrable after life. -Sometimes they would even create a window in the mastaba so that the KA could see people giving sacrifices and worshiping their soul. -Mostly everything had to do with an after life

EGYPTIAN ART.Egyptian art work consisted of paintings, sculpture and architecture Most art work was from the lower Nile Valley from about 5000 BCE to 300 AD Pyramids Tombs Relief sculptures Paintings Mastabas Most structures like Mastabas were made out of mud brick
