Options  Recycle is an option when:  Equipment is still above standard for use and support  Disposal is an option when:  Equipment is broken and is no longer under warranty and cannot be repaired  Equipment is in excess to the campus needs and is below SAISD standards for use and support

Procedure  Before any computer equipment will be removed from a campus by Plant Services, campuses need the approval of the Technology Department  Plant Services will not pick up equipment without an approved C36-A form, “Disposal & Transfer of Computer Equipment”

Process for Disposition SAISD Procedure C36-A  Campus completes the top portion of the SAISD Disposal & Transfer Form, C36-A  Fax or pony to the Technology Department  Note that this form also replaces the INV-I transfer form. You no longer need to fill out two forms. This serves as a Transfer INV-I form for Computers and PC related items only.

Process  Form must be approved by the Principal or Department Head  Technology department will review items submitted for disposition  Equipment is reviewed to see if it is below SAISD standards for use and support  If equipment is not below standard, a technician will be sent onsite or the campus will be contacted to determine if equipment is broken and no longer under warranty  The disposition is approved and the completed form is returned to the campus or admin office

Process  The campus contacts Plant Services to arrange for pickup of the equipment to go to Boys Club. Do not arrange ahead of time if you do not have your C36-A form approved from Technology.  Fill out the Releasing Campus Information and the Receiving Campus area where items are going to (this section replaces the INV-I Transfer form)  Plant Services will ask for the approved C36-A Disposal & Transfer form when picking up the equipment  Plant Services takes the equipment to the SAISD warehouse where it is prepared for auction.  Plant Services will not pick up equipment without an approved form!
