PIZZA MAKING IN FOOD TECHNOLOGY

First we mixed strong bread flour with yeast, salt, sugar and tiped water(warm water) which made the dough/pizza base.

Then we put the dough in a bowl and covered it with cling film. We left it to proof( let the dough rise). This helps for the gluten to activate which makes the dough become stretchy and puffy.

While the dough was proofing we chose what toppings we wanted on our pizzas. Then we cut up our toppings using different techniques like the bridge hold and the claw grip. Everyone chopped their toppings up in different ways, I chopped mine into small squares.

Once that was done we took our dough out of our bowl and began to knead it. Now it was time to roll out the dough with a rolling pin, but had to cover both the rolling pin and surface with a small amount of flour so it wouldn’t stick to anything.

Finally it was time to put the pizza together. We covered the dough with tomato pure and added our toppings. Now the pizza was ready for cooking.
