Development of Curricula and Training Material Together with three universities (one from the Spanish-speaking countries, another in Portuguese, and one university from the English-speaking countries) and AMERIPOL Social Geopolitical Institutional Security Based on a 4-pronged needs assessment to create new capabilities for police institutions:

Onsite Police Training Course At the Federal Police Academy of Brazil University and police academy lecturers + guest lecturers 4 weeks in length Theory classes + field experiences Two (2) participants per OAS member state Simultaneous interpreting in Spanish, English, and Portuguese Intensive language courses Certification by OAS + participating universities The course will provide the foundation for taking virtual courses

Virtual Police Training Courses 10 four-month Courses through an online education platform Courses available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese Each course 8 to 12 weeks long Each course will accommodate 5,000 officers Certificates issued by the OAS and participating universities LevelingCourse QualityManagement Gender HumanRights PoliceIntelligence Othercourses Drugs Courses based on needs assessment and in consultation with member states:

Subregional Seminars Presentation of best practices and key issues affecting each subregion. Exchange of experiences and transfer of regional knowledge. Best practices competition for participants and/or university researchers. The competition awards committee will comprise the DPS, AMERIPOL, and the participating universities. Documentation and publication of the winning best practices. Replication of best practices in other countries of the region, and possible institutionalization.

Expected outcomes 340 police leaders trained to promote the program in member states 200,000 police officers from the region trained in 5 years and connected through a Network for Police Cooperation and Exchange of Experiences Scientific value-added for the university in professional development for police officers through accreditation of the courses offered. Cost Onsite and virtual courses, subregional seminars, and network creation and maintenance for 5 years = US$250 per person
