Bat Ray Eel Garibaldi Laura Sumac Lemonade plant Cheese weed Waves Mountains Tides Open minded Courage Risk Taker Summary Works cited Fun pictures in Catalina

Bat Ray The Bat Ray is the family of Myliobatidae. There behaviors are solitary or schooling. They are supper slimy. They have stingers on the end of there tail. And everyone thinks there called stingrays.

Eels Many eels have very poor eyesight. Eels have double rows of teeth. Eels also have four nostrils and have a highly sense of smell. Eels are also nocturnal and are active at night time. Eels live in caves or rock cerives. They eat fish, mollusc and the ocean crust.

Garibaldi The Garibaldi is the California state fish. If you take a garibaldi you get a fine of $500 dollars. When garibaldis are baby's they have blue spots on them. Garibaldis are really common to find in Catalina.

Laura Sumac The Laura Sumac is a native plant. The sumac plant has some poison ivy in it. Sumac is a small tree that has many leaves that are poisons.

Lemonade plant The lemonade plant is native to Catalina. The lemonade plant also found in dry open places. The lemonade plats scientific name is Rhus Intergrifola. Picture from Marriott

Cheese Weed The cheese weed has eatable cheese inside of eat. The cheese weeds scientific name is Malva Parviflora. The cheese weed is not native to Catalina. The cheese weed is found in weedy places and over islands.

Waves The wave is called a wave motion with energy from the moon and sun come from. One of the waves is called the Mechanical wave witch makes also the waves convert so make tides. Most waves come from the mid ocean ridges. Picture from Marissa

Mountains' Mountains' are made from plates converting. Mountains' are larges rocks scattered out on a large area of land. Mountains' are usually bigger than hills.

Tides The energy from the moon and the sun is what makes tides. Tides are the largest water on land. The mid ocean ridges help push the tides.

Open Minded Snorkeling was so much fun but I was afraid of the tiger sharks. The snorkeling adventure was traffic. I ad a blast. But you have to be open minded about it. Snorkeling is trying new things and being open to them.

Courage I had a deathly fear of sharks but then I had courage and believed in my self that I could pet a tiger shark so I did and I loved it. I loved having courage in myself that I could pet the shark and know I don’t regret it one bit. courage is to kind of push your self but also believe in yourself and you can do what your minds sets on.

Risk Taker The squid dissection was really gross but really interesting. The risk taker profile is really important because that’s how you grow in life by breaking your fears pushing your self to try new things. New things like squid direction is being a risk taker because your doing something you have never done and something new that you tried.

Summary In Catalina we learned about tiger sharks, Bat Rays, sting Rays, sea slugs, octups, eels, jellyfish, sea stars and more. But my favorite I learned this whole trip would be the Bat Ray. And how slimy they are. But I loved going kyacing because when we went we saw sea lions, dolphins, and sharks.I loved my cabin so much. And over all I loved ties trip.
