Program Areas Traditionally, vocational education programs have been classified into 7 program areas: Agricultural Education Business Education Family and Consumer Sciences Health Occupations Education Marketing Education Technology Education Trade and Industrial Education

Program Areas More recently, the U.S. Office of Education has developed career clusters. There are 16 career clusters. In some states vocational programs are still identified in the traditional manner, in other states they are starting to use the career cluster terminology The problem with career clusters is that some vocational programs are divided among career clusters Not all career clusters relate to vocational programs
