ExCEL After School Program Lead Agency/Site Coordinator Meeting May 19, 2015 WELCOME! DO NOW: Review the evaluation summaries from this year’s meetings. Turn to a neighbor and discuss: What jumps out at you? What resonates with you?

ExCEL After School Program Lead Agency/Site Coordinator Meeting May 19, 2015 ICEBREAKER Develop a “buzzer” motion with your table. You will use this “buzzer” for a trivia activity later on in the meeting. Be prepared to show your buzzer to the group. You have 3 minutes to figure this out. Go!

ExCEL After School Program Lead Agency/Site Coordinator Meeting May 19, 2015 General Session Goals and Objectives Goal: To foster a culture of learning in which everyone is involved in a collective effort of understanding and practice Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will: 1. Meeting Norms Today, let’s all focus on putting students and families first. All objectives and intentions are designed to meet the student

FISHBOWL The purpose of this fishbowl is to surface new ideas for the ExCEL Monthly Meetings. The inner circle will respond to the prompt, while the outer circle will listen. Then groups will switch places. Keep students and families foremost in your thoughts as you participate! What other norms can we agree to follow?

Question Prompt What do you feel is the best use of the time at the monthly 2-hour meetings? Should there be a general session? If not, how should the time be utilized? Should there be individual coaching sessions? Workshops? Should everyone be required to attend?

Question Prompt 2 (if time allows) How do you ensure implementation of new information at the site level? What is the best way for ExCEL to support you in that process?

REFLECTION Write a letter to yourself. You will receive the letter at the August Institute. It will remain sealed all summer. No one will read it. Write your intentions for next year: How will you take ownership of ensuring continuous learning is taking place at your site? In what ways will you step up next year?

TOAST TIME!

THANK YOU! Have a great summer. See you next year!
