Presentation transcript:

What we had to do for our part of the Silent Auction was we were in charge of creating a healthy fruit cup for 300 people.

What we did first for this project was Larry Millard from Easter Seals. We had to set up a meeting with him about the event, we went and met with him to talk about how many people were going to be there and what it was about. Decided which fruit would be most cost effective for 300 people. Our fruit we chose was Cantaloupe, Grapes, Blueberries, Oranges, and Kiwi

Larry about the exact amount of fruit cups we would need. Once that is sent set up what time and where the drop off is going to be.

What had to be done the day of the event was we had someone be at the school waiting for Larry to drop off the items. Next, we had to scoop and dish out 300 cups of fruit for the event. The final step we had to do for this event was pass out the fruit cups to everyone that wanted one.

We chose to make fruit cups for the following reasons Promotes healthy eating habits Helps decrease the risks of childhood obesity It was a fun way for children to eat their fruit. It might have allowed children to try new fruit that they never had before.

Promote healthy eating habits Allow parents and children to enjoy a healthy, easy and cheap food that is good for you. To allow families to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about what they have to make when they get home. Decrease the risks of childhood obesity with the future generation.

Allows children and parents to have quality bonding time that may not allows happen Gives children a chance to see healthy eating habits and understand what healthy foods are if they don’t know. Children and parents can interact with other families Parents can interact with teachers about their children Allows parents to increase the chances of healthy foods in their households.

For my group the cost of this was nothing thanks to the education club. Each fruit cup was $.60 Each (4oz) cup was $.05 So one fruit cup was only $.65 *The total amount it cost for all the fruit cups was $ to feed 3oo people.*
