David Muench Presentation done by Tyler Blank

Education He went to Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY Also, he went to Los Angeles Art Center School of Design

Where is work appears? His work first appears when he was in high school on the magazine Arizona Highways Also, his pictures have been in Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Phoenix Art Museum, Center for Creative Photography, Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff (as you can see he is very popular)

His style His work is mainly nature photography/ landscape He takes pictures from rocks, to the sky, to mountains, to trees, etc. Sometimes though he will take pictures of animals

What inspires him? What really inspires Mr. Muench is what he takes pictures of. Nature. He also believes that photography isn’t about taking a expensive camera and snapping some shots, it’s about simply seeing

Where an When he was born David was born on June 25, 1936 (age 77) Born in Santa Barbra, CA

Some facts about David David has done photography his whole life with his father (also a photographer) He would mainly take pictures in America but has recently started traveling all around the world

Photo 1 Lighting: Lighting is natural and behind the camera. The time of day is about dusk-ish so it gets that nice pink right about the mountain Point of Interest: I wouldn’t say there is one point you should look at. To me the photographer wants you to look at the whole astound beauty of the environment Composition: Rule of thirds isn’t to great on this picture because you can’t tell what your point of interest is. But, I feel to look more to the left of the photo where it is a little more interesting. I chose this photo over others because this picture looks like it wasn’t rushed. David took his time and made the picture look as great as it could be.

Photo 2 Lighting: This beautiful style outdoor lighting looks great because it’s focused in the point of interest. Point of Interest: As I said before, the point of interest is the opening of these rocks. It is in the middle which is kind of bland. But, that doesn’t take away from the beauty of the picture. Composition: Rule of thirds in this photo is fair. It’s not too bad but it’s in center/ bottom center. I chose this picture because it tells a story. It makes you feel like you’re trying to escape some cave and you’re almost out.

Photo 3 Lighting: Natural and dim. That’s how I would explain the lighting. It makes you get a sense of say a horror film and something creepy. Yet, it’s beautiful. Point of Interest: I’d say this is like photo 1, you’re supposed to enjoy the whole picture not just focus on one point. That adds to this photos uniqueness. It breaks the rule of average photos Composition:
