Cont.Cont. Develop female role models particularly – blacks as players, officials and administrators; Facilitate and advice in the building of netball facilities, especially in rural areas; Invited IFNA to come and run an administration course for African countries, hosted by NSA

Cont..Cont.. Improved our coaching accreditation system – with initial funding from UK Sport Have a 4 year agreement with top Australian coach to come twice in a year for coaches/coaching courses; IFNA Umpires courses – invited other African countries to attend at their own costs.

Cont…Cont… Hosted major events in small regions – Project “Taking the games to the people”; Run coaching and umpiring courses in African countries; President elected into the IFNA Board of Directors; 1 st African IFNA umpire appointed from South Africa; National coach appointed to the IFNA coaches panel; Two of our national players selected to World Top 7 Team.

GENDER REPRESENTIVITY Introduced men’s netball; Review constitution and any clauses relating to gender discrimination; Encourage regions to empower female administrators and officials especially in black communities;

NNL Benefits One remarkable contribution of the National Netball League is the inclusion of Sindisiwe “Sindy” Gumede from Kwazulu today, one of the top players in the world– Natal in our national squad and Thobile Nzama selected for the SA “A” Team to tour Botswana and many more. Our pool for selection is more wider and more opportunities are given to all players especially those from disadvantaged areas. Through the NNL, our national teams will soon show the demographics of South Africa. The national selectors and the national coaches will identify talent from the league and those players will be included in the TI Squad for training and future preparation.(Provincial Academies) Still this League is not sponsored!!

PROFESSIONALISMPROFESSIONALISM Compiled employment contracts; Set up packages for employees; Employed a CEO and Event Coordinator – both resigned, couldn’t maintain them; Signed a 5 year broadcasting contract with SABC; Initiated a Tri-nation between South Africa, New Zealand and Australia; Compiled players contracts; Hosted successful international events. Bidding for hosting 2007 World Championships (unsuccessful), intending to bid for 2011

SUCCESSION PLAN TEAMS: USSASA: U/07 – U/19 SA Games: U/19 players who never had an opportunity to represent their regions in any national competition; All nine SA Games Provincial Teams are linked with their Provincial Academies; NSA U/19 to include players from SASSU; One pool of training & selection for the above teams; Some players are transferred to the Provincial Academy
