Class Outline Lecture 1 - Wind, Sails, Rigging Lecture 2 - Boat theory, How to change tacks, Man Overboard Lecture 3 - How to sail well, heaving-to, right-of-way, capsize Lecture 4 - Weather, thunderstorm drill, anchors, navigation, water conditions Lecture 5 - Dock, Required Equipment, Checklist, Chartering Lecture 6 - Review, Test

Required Equipment Lifejacket per person Throw-able floatation (seat cushion) Horn or Whistle Flares Fire Extinguisher (motor only) (Visual) (Audio) (Others Afloat) (Me Afloat)

It is club policy that all persons wear life vests!! Feel free to bring your own if you find the standard type uncomfortable.

Car door key on necklace Leave all “essentials” on shore! Eyeglasses on-a-rope Spare clothes in car CAMERA!
