Natural Resource Definition: a material found in nature that has usefulness and economic value, such as trees, water, minerals With your table group, brainstorm a list of natural resources. Come up with as many as you can in 3 minutes! (Take up these with the class, put in notes)
Types of Natural Resources 1.Renewable Resource: a resource that can be replaced fairly quickly, such as forests and animals 2.Non-Renewable Resource: a resource that cannot be replenished once it is used up, such as fossil fuels 3.Flow Resource: a resource that can be used and replenished at the same time, such as a river current or solar energy; it must be used when and where it occurs in nature
Sustainability: use and conservation of resources in a way that does not deplete them
