Immigrants in the 1600’s, 1700’s, and 1800’s were European When people settled they settled with people who share their same culture. This has created culture regions Quebec – French speaking Canadians Nunavut – more than 50% are Inuit Vancouver – 16% are Chinese (mostly from Hong Kong) The differences in culture have sometimes created conflict. In the 20 th century with all the Chinese immigrating some feared this group of people would change the Canadian culture. The Chinese – Canadian groups asked for continued support of multiculturalism and the laws to continue to be followed. This helped resolve the issue.
