Creating an Outline Using Noodle Tools Read the basic reminders before starting

Basic Reminders An outline either uses sentences or phrases for descriptions. Not Both A sentence description has to have a subject, predict, and a complete thought. Phrases are short and only two to three words. Ex. Name (Thomas Edison), date (1901), and location (Menlo Park) If you have a Roman Numeral I, you must have a Roman Numeral II. If you have an “A”, you must have a “B”. All entries must be paired.

Basic Reminder 2 Follow the example on your Pink Outline Sheet. Remember Introductions and Conclusions are typed word-for-word and do not get Roman Numerals. Remember Noodletools will not do the work for you.

To Start: Click on Outline Click on I. Topic to type in the topic for your first Body Paragraph Click on A. Subtopic to add the supporting information and details for this paragraph Remember if you have an A. you need a B.

Adding New Levels Click on the plus sign to add another layer. It will automatically indent (move right) to the next lower layer. To move it to the layer you want click on the appropriate move left or move right buttons Remember: An “A” needs a “B”, a 1 needs a 2, an “a” needs a “b”. You can have a “C” without a “D”. If you have a question, read the directions on the Pink Outline Direction Sheet.
