Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator :- This is a powerpoint presentation to show the various applications that the Sandvik VSI crushers are currently used in. Click on the arrow to see.

Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Sandvik’s VSI Crushers are used in many other areas. The above is just a selction of the many and varied applications. Quarries and Gravel Plants Recycling Mines Cement Works Industrial Minerals Steel Production Narrator: ”Although the main use of the Sandvik VSI crusher is in the production of sand and quality cubicle aggregates, it can also play an important role in other industries. Click on the industries listed to learn more about how VSI crushers are used in each one. ”

Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator :- Quarries and Gravel Plants Apart from the manufacture of sand, Sandvik’s VSI’s are also used to: Produce premium shaped aggregates for concrete and asphalt. These aggregates comply with new standards for elongation and flake in all fraction sizes. Re-crush out of specification material (reduce elongation and flake). This can be fraction sizes from 50mm down, but can also include the crushing of quarryt dust (resultant from compression crushing), to make it into ab accptable shaped quality manufactured sand. For differential crushing to remove contaminants from feed material, for example lignite, sandstone and clay. Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator :- Recycling In the recycling industry, Sandvik’s VSI crushers are used for: Crushing container glass or cullet, for example bottles, to sand specification for use in many industries, including the manufacture of new glass. Recycling of ceramics (rejected wash basins, toilets and bathroom ceramic wear etc.) Quarries and Gravel Plants Recycling Mines Cement Works Industrial Minerals Steel Production

Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator:- Mines. In the mining industry, Sandvik’s VSI crushers are used for: Increasing the amount of finer material prior to the mills, thus improving the efficiency of the mill. This gives huge savings in the operation of the mill. Reducing both kW power of the mill and also increasing mill throughput (less retention time), which is not only good for the customer in today’s tough economic situation, but also good for the environment (lower CO2 footprint). Improving the rate of recovery of ores when processed by heap leaching, due the abilityof the Sandvik VSI crushers to break rocks along naturally occuring weak frature planes, thus exposing the relevant minerals for recovery. The crushed ore is put in a pile, or heap, on an impermeable barrier, then a liquid that will remove, or leach, the ore from the rock is irrigated through the heap, with the reultant mineral remaining for recovery and further processing. The separation of hard particles, for example gemstones such as diamonds, from softer rock. The is sometimes referred to as preferential crushing. Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator :- Cement Works In a cement works, Sandviks VSI crushers are used to reduce the size of the particles of cement clinker (the solid lumps produced by the cement oven) before the milling process. It is a similar process for the Sandvik VSI to that used in Mines. Quarries and Gravel Plants Recycling Mines Cement Works Industrial Minerals Steel Production

Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator :- Industrial Minerals Sandvik’s VSI crushers are used to crush highly abrasive industrial minerals, for example Silicon Carbid, Calcined Bauxite, Fused Aluminas and Zirconia etc. achieving: Lowest contamination levels due to the rock on rock crushing action. Excellent particle shape even down to micron size Lowest possible cost per tonne of product. Quarries and Gravel Plants Recycling Mines Cement Works Industrial Minerals Steel Production

Grid Size 3,175 Size 6,35 Sandvik Mining and Construction Narrator :- Steel Production In the steel industry, Sandvik’s VSI crushers are used for: Crushing waste slag for use as a fertilizer. This slag naturally has a high Phosphate content Reducing the size of coke particles for fluidized bed injection (a process where the coke is blown through the furnace with air – a more efficient way to heat a furnace) Production of de-gasser – this is the crushing of waste steel (lathe swarf, small nuts and bolts, old springs etc). This when crushed through the Sandvik VSI is sprinkled onto the surface of molten metal in the ladle, to aid in the removal of gasses and impurities in th emolten steel.
