SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) – Required for admission at the majority of colleges and universities – Consists of three tests: Critical Reading, Math, Writing – Each test is scored on a scale of ACT (American College Test) -Accepted in place of the SAT at all four-year colleges and universities – Consists of four tests: English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing (optional) – Top composite score is 36 Accuplacer -Placement test -Primarily used for admission to Montgomery College and other smalle schools -Consists of Reading, Writing and Mathematic. ASVAB -Similar to a career interest inventory (to determine interests, skills, abilities) -Used for recruitment into the military -Given in March (check in the college/career center) TOEFL -Used to determine English proficiency for English language learners.
