PURPOSE: PANDEMIC FLU OUTBREAKS THROUGHOUT HISTORY Flu Pandemic of : AKA Spanish Flu. H1N1 500 million infected million deaths : Identified in the Far East. Came to the US. H2N2 2 million deaths worldwide : Hong Kong. Similar to strain that causes flu pandemic in H3N2 1 million deaths : H1N1(Swine Flu) New H1N1 strain

RISK ASSESSMENT: IRAT: Influenza Risk Assessment Tool Assess potential pandemic risk that currently present in animals and not humans. Risk of ability to spread easily. Severity of human disease caused by virus(deaths/hospitalizations) Burden to society (missed workdays, strain on hospital..etc.)
