TODAY’S AGENDA Now until 11:10 Use metaphor to iterate (based on learnings) Create new prototypes 11:10-12:30 Prep for testing Test with users + iterate prototypes (a lot!) 12:30 – 2:00 Grab lunch and debrief with your team Show, Don’t Tell your stories Debrief

ITERATE

metaphor: why? metaphor making is really about iteration inspiration

“house of straw” vs. “house of cards” “big bad wolf” vs. “huff and puff” notice what each makes you feel, see, smell, hear, taste metaphor: example? “outfoxing your opponent” vs. “outsmarting your opponent”

Using the experience of your solution from user testing and identifying sensory non-verbal cues so that you activate your user’s imagination to fill in the blanks. metaphor: what? you want the user’s imagination to do all the of work (you just set the right trajectory)

metaphor: how? 1.use your senses 2.access your imagination 3.test your metaphor

Abstract away everything particular to the context and extract only that which is your solution experience. metaphor: how?

“a solid foundation weathers all turns of the wheel of fortune” vs. “sweat on the brow when preparing pays off in facing adversity” metaphor: why?

show your tested prototypes (5 min) display all prototypes in teams (only displaying!) share your testing learnings (10 min) 1-2 post-it notes learnings (only post-its!) consolidate with metaphors (15 min) 1-2 post-it notes: “what is this prototype really about?” (only post-its!) iterate into a new prototype (15 min) aim for 1-2 prototypes per team now in your teams

test: how? 1.establish roles within the team 2.set the stage 3.let the user experience the prototype 4.observe the experience 5.check in with the user 6.record your learning throughout 7.iterate and repeat

+ What worked… !! Ideas… - What to improve… ? Questions… Record your learning!
