Most colleges and universities have a process to measure learning acquired outside the classroom. Credit by Exam is one of the processes commonly deployed to measure prior learning. Students take an exam and when passing receive the same amount of credit they would earn with a similar course. The DSST exams, along with CLEP and Advanced Placement exams, are delivered for credit at thousands of higher education institutions in the United States. A college or university may either award credit for a passing exam, deliver the exams on their campus or both.

DSST exams are: Offered in six disciplines and 37 subjects Recognized nationally Nearly 2000 institutions award DSST credits Over 1000 institutions deliver DSST exams Recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) Take an average of 90 min. to complete $80/exam or funded by DANTES if a member of the service. Aligned with college course content for core curriculum Well-suited to fulfill elective credits with titles such as Introduction to World Religions and Ethics in America

How to Become an IBT Test Center  Go to getcollegecredit.com/contact us  Click on “become a DSST test center”  Populate form  Once request is received Janet will follow up and provide the following information:  Letter of Agreement  Site code assigment  Instructions to install IBT  Test Administrator’s Guide  Instructions to take TCA exam which will initiate system  Once system is initiated, delivery can begin!
