EUROPE DESERT POLISH SAHARA - SLOWINSKI NATIONAL PARK

SLOWINSKI NATIONAL PARK SLOWINSKI NATIONAL PARK It was created in 1967 and is one of the 23 national parks in Poland. It is located in the central part of the Polish coast, in the province of Pomerania. In 1977, it was included in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Network, and in 1995 it was entered into the list of protected areas of international importance of nature. Characteristic features of the park are coastal lakes, marshes, meadows, bogs, coastal forests and woodlands, especially dune belt spit of shifting sand dunes. Symbol of the park is the seagull.

In Slowinski National Park the most fascinating are the shifting sand dunes called "White Mountains". So it is worth visiting Łeba, the city close to the national park, mainly because of the shifting dunes and wide sandy beaches.

Góra Łącka - Góra Łącka is the highest not forested dune. From the top there is an unforgettable sight. If you look to the west, you can see the sandy desert. Looking to the left, you can see the wide meadows, the fields and Łebsko lake. On the south we have a sight from the forests. From the north the sandy spit borders with the sea. The sandy mountain, called Góra Łącka, moves from west to east, by the direction of the winds. Tourists like sitting on the top and watching the countryside and young children rolling down from the top.

Bike trails in the park are available for practicing cycling tourism. If we don’t have our own bike, we can certainly use the bike rentals,which are in the park.

Riding along the bike trails, for example from Łeba to Gardno Wielkie,which is even 40km long, we can come across the different types of surfaces such as: asphalt, sand, meadows and even swampy terrain.

There are some other ways of spending time in an active way. These are: On land In water Walking paths, Nordic Walking, running paths Natural pools where you can swim and sail.

For people who like calm and passive entertaiment there are activities such as: Fishing Cruises For people who love fishing it is possible to use the coast and the boats on the lakes: Łebsko, Gardno, Pustynka, Rowokół In summer there are many possibilities of cruises. People can take part in them from Rąbka to Kluki and Kluki to Rocket Launcher.
