What is Our Mission? Our mission is to “make disciples” of all peoples through the Spirit-empowered speaking of the Word of God (the gospel) “disciple-making” involves both speaking God’s word for conversion and for spiritual growth

Part Two: Who is called to this mission?

Every Disciple…? 1. Nature of a Disciple a disciple of Jesus by definition is a disciple-maker (“fishers of men” – Matt. 4:19) there are not two categories of disciples of Jesus the “Great Commission” is the abiding command of Jesus for every disciple (Matt. 28:19-20)

Evidence from Acts Acts 2:16-21: the eschatological gift of the Spirit has been poured out on all believers Acts 4:29-31: all believers were filled with the Holy Spirit for bold proclamation of the word of God Acts 8:1-4, 11:19-21: believers who were scattered went about preaching the word
