Public Speaking

What is public speaking (akizungumza umma)? Public speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners.

Key Points Chances are you'll sometimes have to speak in public as part of your role. While this can seem intimidating (vitisho), the benefits of being able to speak well outweigh any perceived fears.

Why should I learn public speaking? If you speak well in public, it can help you: get a job or promotion raise awareness for your team or organization educate others. The more you push yourself to speak in front of others, the better you'll become, and the more confidence you'll have.

Plan appropriately A speech has three fundamental parts: Introduction Main body Conclusion Tip: start with something interesting (a story, statistics, movie) use a lot of example snotes

Practice Practice makes perfect! seek opportunities to speak in front of others start with speaking in front of a small audience
