Fact 1 The Boston Tea Party was a direct act by the colonist against the British Government and the East India Company who controls all of the tea trade.

Fact 2 On December 16, 1773, a band of colonists boarded three ships holding taxed tea and destroyed it by throwing it into the Boston Harbor.

Fact 3 Boston’s punishment was Boston Harbor was closed and that the colonists had to house British soldiers. The British soldiers were sent there to keep an eye on the colonist, until they repaid the East India Company.

Fact 4 The Boston Tea Party did “not appear in print until Until then it was referred to as the destruction of tea.”

Fact 5 The Boston Tea Party was a event leading up to the Revolutionary War and the reason why the British Government sent over British soldiers.
