This walking route takes you around 3 venues embracing our Green City theme and through some nice urban greenspace giving you the chance to experience the natural beauty Glasgow has to offer. Leave Hyndland Station platform and take the steps signposted to ‘Gartnavel Hospitals’ into the hospital grounds where you will pick up ‘Maggies’ signage. Go left and then cross over at the Ambulance depot and up the hill. Pass the car park on your left and at the mini roundabout go left to access the entrance to the Maggies Centre (Venue 95). Note there is a short section without pavement so take care. Leave Maggies and keep left walking in front of the old Gartnavel Royal, a red sandstone building. Cross over and take the path downhill amongst the trees to the beautifully converted chapel that is the Calman Cancer Support Centre (venue 86). Leave the Centre and walk right down Shelly road, cross over and walk round by Binghams pond and out onto Great Western Road. Keep right and cross at the pedestrian lights and take the path onto Beaconsfield Road. Follow the road down to St John’s Renfield Church (venue 99). Retrace your steps back to Great Western Road and cross back over at the pedestrian lights. Walk around the front of the Partners Suite restaurant, through the small car park and onto Hughenden Lane. Walk past the new townhouses alongside Hillhead Sports Club round to Hughenden Road. Go straight through 2 mini roundabouts then take the curved steps on your right down into Old Station Park. Walk Diagonally across the grounds and down the path at the far corner out to Hayburn Lane by Novar Nursery School. Walk out to Novar Drive then go right back down to Hyndland Station.
