Presentation transcript:

Electricity is sold on the market. Popular name of electricity is a current. What is the current ? Electric current is a flow of electric charge through a medium.

The most important properties of electricity:  Ease of transport, distribution and regulation - transforming the parameters necessary for use;  Not contamination of the environment - concentrated in large plants the process of generating electricity, mainly from heat;  High processing efficiency in other forms of useful energy.

Types of power plants in Poland:  Wind power station  Hydropower plant  Thermal power station Types of power plants in Łódź:  Wind power station  Thermal power station

 This is the first power station in Łódź, built in 1907 on Targowa street. It operated until 2005.

It is located on Wróblewskiego street

It is located on Andrzejewska street.

 It is the largest thermal power station in Europe, and one of largest fossil fuel power stations in the world.

 Poland is sixth power producer in the European Union  Over 62% of energy produced from coal and more than 32% of lignite  The three largest manufacturers have more than 51% market share, of which PGE has more than 35%
