Presentation transcript:

Previous student December 8, 2008 PSY1050

I will continue to take steps in a direction that positively influences my life and the lives of people around me while immerging onto this path of life that God has set me on. I will utilize my strengths, overcome my weaknesses, and use my education to help others do the same. I will figure out who I am in this world…and love myself for the person I turn out to be.

I will use my strengths of persuasion, outgoingness, and determination to demonstrate social responsibility in my community and motivate others to do the same. I will overcome my weaknesses of lack of positive acknowledgement to co-workers to better the work environment of those around me and build my career skills.

I will not ignore phone calls/ s from family simple because “I’m just not in the mood to talk.” I will not wait for holidays to role around before I make an effort to go visit family. I will not use the “The phone works both ways” against family because I am just as guilty as not picking up the phone and calling. I will pick up the phone and call just to see what’s up. I will invite family out to stay at my house for weekends.

I will accept the fact that not everybody works at my pace. I will accept the fact that I pick up on things quicker than most. I will lend a helping hand instead of standing around tapping my feet waiting. I will have patience with my nephews-after all, boys will be boys. I will have patience with my niece’s learning disability and embrace her strengths.

I will accept the offer to spend a night out every once in awhile with my girlfriends. I will sleep in on the weekends with my husband and dogs when he asks. I will let others help me out when they offer. I will watch some tv and relax after a long day of working.

I will create a schedule for school time…and stick to it. I will wake up early enough in the morning to get everything done that I need before work-without rushing out the door or skipping breakfast. I will plan time for family and friends so they are never left out at the end of the week. I will make time for myself.

I will not drop any classes once I have started them. I will turn in every homework assignment, quiz, test, and project. I will not make excuses for anything! I will not allow myself to get overloaded. I will not QUIT!

I will tutor children who are struggling in school. I will ring the bells for the Salvation Army during the holidays. I will donate food on a monthly basis to Food Finders. I will donate our old clothes when we outgrow them. I will help in the fight to raise Breast Cancer Awareness in my community.

I will encourage myself to try new things. I will try again when I fail. I will embrace change in my life. I will reach for the sky and not be afraid of falling. I will pick others up when they’re down. I will feed off positive attitudes in my work place and leave the negative behind. I will not let other people’s bad attitudes & experiences prevent me from forming my own.

I will let the past be the past. I will not let the past determine my future. I will look forward at my success and not back at my failures. I will hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. I will live each day as if it were my last. I will accept that all things happen for a reason.

I will be a 22-year-old wife, part-time administration major, and full-time employee at a financial institute. I will stay motivated, determined, and persuasive. I will be loud, opinionated, and bossy. I will keep my kind heart and my good intentions that are usually misunderstood. I will laugh when nobody else is laughing, and I will cry just because I can. I will set my standards high and stay optimistic about my future. I will continue to love tattoos, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, and big, loud, diesel trucks. I will volunteer when I can, donate what I can, and not feel guilty because I can’t give more.

I will be a successful business-woman with a full life. I will give when/what I can and not feel guilty for not giving more. I will always stay positive about the future and accept that all things happen for a reason. I will leave the past behind me and live each day as if it were my last. I love whole- heartedly and laugh every day. I will stay love and support my family for who they are, and I will always just be myself…
